Howard Middle School (Macon, Georgia)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Howard Middle School is a unit of the Bibb County Public School System, serving sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students. Located on Forsyth Road near the county's north border with Monroe County, the school opened in 2004. It takes its name from the Howard militia district, and later a group of voting precincts, located in that part of the county.

The principal is Matt Adams.

Plans to build "Howard High" are underway, and the school is expected to be completed on campus with the middle school in 2008.

A previous "Howard School", unrelated to Howard Middle, was situated approximately two miles southeast on Forsyth Road and is now the Howard Community Center; it is frequently rented out for events.

Howard Middle School's mascot is the husky, and the school's colors are grey, burgundy, and black.
