Howard Balzer is a long time sportcaster started his career at ESPN. He was one of the first anchors. He started in 1981. He worked for Pro Football Weekly where he wrote articles about the NFL. He now writes for USA Today Sports Weekly, and was a columnist for now-defunct British American football newspaper First Down for 10 years.
He also strings for a variety of radio stations around the country. He worked for The Sports Fan Radio Network.
He lives in St. Louis. He works for 1380 ESPN Radio in St. Louis.
He also worked for KTRS. There he covered the St.Louis Rams. He gained controversy over his criticism of former coach St. Louis Rams Coach Mike Martz. Balzer said his words that Mike Martz failed to provide defensive leadership. It was said after the 2003 season.
