[edit] Images for film articles
[edit] Images for film articles that I uploaded and were then deleted by a policy which is supposed to benefit wikipedia!! This is a protest.
And by the way, no, I don't want to have to fill endless and completely unreasonable "fair use rationals" for images of films, either DVD or VCR covers, which are common in many websites, like several film databases, ebay and whatnot. I don't have a bot and I don't have the time and it's a very bad feeling to see my (and other editors') contributions gobbled up. Those editors who decided that this should be so, could run a bot and add these "fair use rationals" to save the work of so many other editors who tried to enrich film articles with images, at a time when the current policy was not in effect. I am sure there are many areas where the application of this policy is very reasonable and may help wikipedia from being accused of using copyrighted material. In this case, however, it's just pure waste of contribution effort. I wish one day wikipedia will get rid of such bureaucratic narrow mindedness and stop wasting our efforts.
