A hoveround is an electric powered wheelchair used for mobility purposes. It provides an easy way for someone who cannot walk to get around without having to manually move the wheels. Although they cost more than a regular wheelchair, the cost is for convenience because with a flip of a switch, you're good to go.
The Hoveround Corporation, founded in April 1992 by inventor and company president Tom Kruse, "a nurse by profession", was made popular by its late night infomercials.
