Any idea whether her name should be "Jiyu Kennett" or "Jiyu-Kennett"? Both appear widely on the web, sometimes in the same article, as is the case with ours. Looks like "Jiyu-Kennett" is a little more common, but I wanted to check before moving it. Actually, it should probably go to Houn Jiyu-Kennett which appears to be her full name.

By the way, someone with a little knowledge of it should try to add something about her role in developing Shasta's unique blend of Christian and Buddhist trappings. I have a tape of her people performing traditional chants set to plainsong (complete with dharanis translated into English!) and I reckon there's nothing else like that in the world. - Nat Krause 17:15, 5 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Rev. Master Jiyu Kennett composed a number of hymns too. There is (I think) a 'sacristy' at Throssel Hole. The OBC began giving monks Eastern-type names but switched to Western type (again, I think) and this may be part of the same approach. Rentwa 19:00, 15 September 2006 (UTC)

Jiyu-Kennett is the correct version from my experience within the Sangha. Also, I would suggest removing the Dharma heirs until a complete list can be formed. There are several, and they all deserve to be included. A picture of her should also be uploaded. -SHM —Preceding unsigned comment added by Suchawato (talk • contribs) 10:06, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
