House of Bosdari
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The House of Bosdari is an Italian noble family which originated in Dubrovnik (formerly Ragusa), Croatia. "Bosdari" is from the Ragusan Dalmatian/Italian languages.
In 1450 the Bosdari participated in the defense of Croatia against the Turks. Biagio Bosdari, son of Michele Bosdari, was admitted to the council of Ragusa on 5 November 1666, who contribuited with 5.000 ductas to the Republic treasury. In 30 July 1667 Diodato Bosdari as a token of gratitude for community service in the post earth quake period was admitted to the council of Ragusa. The brother of Biagio, Francesco moved to Ancona, founding the Ancona branch of the family. An Imperial Diploma of 4 July 1753 created the Bosdari of Ancona nobles. The family later moved to Bologna.
