Houghton Kepier Sports College (sometimes credited as Houghton Kepier School), is a school in the North-East of England that specialises in Sports. It is now home to two Teacher of the year award winners being Sue Hyland (Headteacher) in 2001 and John Hall in 2007 (Head of Music).
The school also has a enthusiastic and motivated drama department and has held many shows such as Grease (musical) Joseph And His Technicolour Dreamcoat, Much Ado About Nothing, Back To The 80's!(musical) and is in discussion about its current summer show for 2008.
The school also has a well established band, created by the regional secondary school teacher of the year, John Hall. Since forming the band, they have embarked on trips to Paris and Holland with many more planned in the future. The band plays a variety of music ranging from classical to music from blockbuster films such as Pirates of the Caribbean.
