Houcine Slaoui

Houcine Slaoui (حسين السلا) Houcine Ben Bouchaïb is a singer and composer who marked the history of the Moroccan popular song. He was born in 1918 en died in 1951.

Its nickname "Slaoui" is inspired by its birthplace. Since its childhood, it does not cease promoting a personal style, combining words, music and a certain realism of the life. It appears as one of principal the craftsman if not the founder of the popular song in Morocco which one did not call yet chaâbi. It is the first to introduce modern musical instruments and innovator before Mohammed Abdel Wahab
