[edit] Copyvio etc.

Thank you (and sincerely, again). However please note - it is still the rules, as the notice said, to answer the question and demonstrate that you have permission on the Copyvio page, not to revert the {{copyvio}} notice itself. My own idea may be overruled and you may be required to do so after all... Schissel-nonLop! 16:28, 24 November 2005 (UTC)

No evidence has been presented that the material copied into Eugen Suchoň from http://www.suchon.info/ has been made available by the copyright holder with suitable permission. Can you please provide on the article's talk page a copy of your communication with the source of the text in question? It will have to be removed from the article without suitable evidence of proper permission, and that would be a shame. Thanks. -- Kbh3rd 04:54, 8 December 2005 (UTC)
Thanks. A clear statement that permission was received, and from whom, is what was missing on the talk page – edit notes really aren't sufficient for the purpose. You've stated that you received permission, and you gave the email address used in the correspondence. That should be sufficient, and I won't bother you for anything more. (It would be better to see verbatim copy-and-paste of the correspondence, including headers, though admittedly that, too, is not "proof".)
Thanks for contributing and making Wikipedia better. -- Kbh3rd 05:36, 8 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Romania

Hi, I see you've lived in Romania (from your webpage updates). How's the situation there? Also, Mabel...odd variation of a name I usually see, what is it?

Anyway, aside from the chitchat -- I want to see if you can help me make some articles on the list of Romanians page. I'll be starting them shortly. HotelRoom 05:40, 5 December 2005 (UTC)

I haven't been there in over three years now, and I gather the country is changing rapidly, so I hesitate to say a lot about the situation. If you want my views, on Romania, you might want to look at http://www.speakeasy.org/~jmabel/travels/romania1.html, on my personal site.
"Mabel": Who knows? We think it was the family name pre-Ellis Island. It certainly was afterwards. My ethnic background is Jewish, ancestrally from Lithuania/Poland, family (on all sides) emigrated to the US in the 1890s.
You might want to join the Wikipedia:Romanian Wikipedian's notice board. Good place to post to ask for help, I'll do what I can. -- Jmabel | Talk 05:58, 5 December 2005 (UTC)
FWIW, I believe that all of your recently added film/stage entries at List of famous Romanians are already at List of Romanian Actors. - Jmabel | Talk 08:03, 5 December 2005 (UTC)

My apologise for removing your entries. I was adding deleted people manually and really don't see how did that happened. Nikola 11:29, 10 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] RFC on me

User:Arniep seems to believe that you and I are the same user due to our collaborations on some works and List of Ukrainians. I think your username and verifiability are under threat. Since I can't reach you, as soon as you come on please comment on Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Antidote. He's also contacted the user who you've confirmed the copyright status of Eugen Suchon with. Apparently, he's trying to sabbotage your and my work as some type of vengeance. Antidote 23:32, 10 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Ray Croc

Ray Croc neither lived in Czech lands, nor spoke in Czech (I may be mistaken her) and was not part of Czech culture either. If the list includes everyone who had Czech ancestors it may be simply renamed to "list of all". Pavel Vozenilek 04:02, 28 December 2005 (UTC)

The current list is broken. Year ago it was reasonably small and manageable but then people started to add all names they could find. I tried to do some cleanup then but gave up. IMO such lists cannot be maintained at all. Pavel Vozenilek 23:15, 31 December 2005 (UTC)
Yes, List of Slovaks is mostly red but this is because even less people from Slovakia work here. In my opinion List of Czechs should be short and every section should contain line like "* for more names see Category:Czech writers" at the end of each section. This may allow making the list of reasonable length. This kind of discussion should perhaps happen on Talk page of the list - I noticed few people have it on their watch. [edit] Image Tagging Image:Moter2 Galanda.jpg

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Moter2 Galanda.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Dethomas 07:22, 21 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Vycpalek.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Vycpalek.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Image legality questions page. Thank you. Shyam (T/C) 18:10, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging Image:Benka.jpg

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Benka.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. An image that you uploaded or altered, Image:Kaplicky_levete.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree images because its copyright status is disputed. [edit] Non-free use disputed for Image:Suchon2.JPG

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Suchon2.JPG. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 12:01, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:Bartoska.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Bartoska.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 21:56, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Bahyl_foto.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Bahyl_foto.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 17:16, 31 March 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 17:16, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
