I added the hieroglyph for the word peace as transcribed by Gardiner and Budge. It's a little blurry but it will do for now until I can find better graphics. I also wanted to prove to the detractors that in this particular case Budge's work can be referenced as valid as both translterations from these Egyptologists are indentical. - Nuwaubian Hotep 23:03, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] The resurrection of Budge

He wrote, Sir E.A. Wallis Budge, 100 books, 3 per year. No wonder i found a mistake, here and there in his works. i personally am offended by "Critics" who knowe Soo Much, that they have to be 'Right'. Over the 2500 –3000 years of hieroglyphs many individuals created many of their own works. To say Budge shouldn't be referenced is:.... misguided. [edit] Why is a reference to Gardiner reverted

- Hotep is an English rendering of a word from the ancient Egyptian language transcribed as htp Gardiner p 579 and 617 = law. The phrase m hotep has been translated to mean literally from law "peace", Gardiner p 583 and 620 "to rest" " be satisfied", "become at peace" and "at ease" as in the Egyptian philosophy of living the life in Ma3t.
