[edit] RnB?
No way it's an RnB song... more like an upbeat club song TLflow 15:10, 04 July (UTC) —Preceding comment was added at 14:11, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] This is NOT a house music song!
This isn't house music song! It's upbeat, yes, but not house. Even if it had a house MIX somewhere, that wouldn't qualify it as house. Whoever keeps posting it to that list is either a fan, a member of the group or someone who works with (or for) the group and wants them to receive advertising. It's not house -- maybe dance-pop -- but not house! (Mirror Ball 23:37, 26 May 2008 (UTC)) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mwmalone (talk • contribs)
I've requested that both Mwmalone (talk · contribs) and Noboyo (talk · contribs) discuss the genre of this song here. I note that a source was provided indicating that the song was House, which Mwmalone disputes. I would strongly ask that the matter be discussed and evaluated here, and that no further reversions take place, as the article is (and was) dangerously close to an edit war. [edit] More...
This couldn't be further from the truth. This song is more along the lines of dance-pop (and maybe electro). This is highly non-factual and is making the list misleading. The description[1] of this group specifically names them as Dance-pop, Euro and teen-pop [2]. Nowhere is house music mentioned. Plus, I've heard the song and viewed it on Youtube[3]. It isn't HOUSE! [edit] Hearing no objections, I'm making this change. Please discuss it here before reverting me. Thank

I personally agree, I wouldn't classify it as house music though it's in the right BPM range. But the citations classifying the band as dance-pop or pop doesn't mean that they wouldn't try releasing a pure house track at some point. I don't think this track goes far enough to really meet a house taxonomy though I'm not an expert. The baseline is too subdued for example, not a complete four on the flour. And though some things I would classify as house have a greater emphasis on vocals never to this degree. - Owlmonkey (talk) 07:53, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
Oh, I agree. They could very WELL do pure house -- or at the very least, pop-house. They may have a house track floating out there somewhere too. But -- like we've said -- I wouldn't classify "Hot Summer" as housse (talk)
