[edit] Suhrawardy
Dear Hossain,
I removed the name on the grounds of keeping the list short. If we listed every person involved in the Indian independence movement and the Partition who also has a biography on Wikipedia, the list would be hundreds of names long. The point of listing the names of the MAJOR participants was to direct readers to relevant biographies. I'm not a specialist in the history of the Partition, just a well-read American. I went solely by my reactions, which are: if I, who am not a South Asian and not a specialist, recognize the name, it must be well-known. If I don't recognize the name, then the person may be important, but not important enough to make the short list.
If you want to argue that the name should be well-known, or that I've got a curious blind spot here, in that I can recognize Gandhi and Mountbatten but not Suhrawardy, you could bring it up on the talk page of the article. However, I rather despair of coming to any consensus on anything relating to that article, because we have several editors with strong political positions and, it seems to me, incomplete understanding of NPOV.
Is there a WP category for Indian independence movement? We should make sure that all the South Asian bios have the proper category appended, and then perhaps have a link in that section of the Partition article to the category, directing readers to more biographies.
I'm not trying to shut out your candidate, it's just that lists tend to grow like weeds unless there's someone saying, "NO, keep it short." Zora 00:54, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Akram Khan (in Suhrawardy article)
Hi Hossain - thank you very much for pointing out that Akram Khan will get confused with the cricketer! I am afraid I have revealed my terrible lack of cricket knowledge. However, I am still not happy with the use of the title Maulana: Wikipedia's policy against honorifics and titles seems to me to be quite important. I have set up a separate page for Akram Khan (politician), and linked to that - I hope this will clear up any ambiguity. Thanks again and best wishes, TinaSparkle 10:14, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Request around reference
I am watching with the delight the references you are providing, particularly to Dhaka Nawab Family articles. Wonderful job there. It could get even better, though, with very little extra effort. Can you, by any chance, have the time to put footnote citations and use a book citation template? If that can be added, we can expect the articles to radically develop in status.
