A semicontactor is defined as a material whose resistivity is much less than the resistivity of an insulator yet is much greater than the resistivity of a conductor and one of the application of this material is in diode product. The main type of diode used in electronic circuits are: (1)Signal Diode (2)Power Diode (3)Zener Diode (4)Varactor Diode


Signal Diode signal diode is a kind of diode which has been designed for circuits that don't have large current or voltage. (eg. radio waves circuits or electronic switches). This kind of diode works between 30v and 150v inverse voltage and 40mA to 250 mA forward current.

Power Diode

This kind of diode is often used in circuits that work by alternating current, the peak inverse voltage is almost between 50 and 1000 volt with maximum forward current 30mA. Zener Diode This kind of diode designed for breakdown region, The most common application of zener diode is in the voltage stabilizing circuits, it's also used as a voltage reference.
