Host station

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A Host Station is a type of railway station on Melbourne's suburban rail network that has the following available during morning peak times (Monday to Friday, 6am-10am):[1]

  • Open toilets
  • One or more station hosts (staff who assist passengers with queries and ticketing), or
  • An open, staffed customer service centre (booking office), in most cases providing the same services as those of Premium Stations

The Host Station program means that over 80 per cent of suburban rail passengers start their journey from a staffed station.[1] There are a total of 31 Host Stations across Melbourne:[1]
