Hōsenki is an oyster-demon in the manga and anime InuYasha.

Hōsenki always resides in a giant clam sunken beneath a lake between mountains, showing himself only when he is called. Hōsenki cultivates a myriad of magical jewels, each of which can act as a gateway to InuYasha's father's grave. It is Hōsenki who created the black pearl in InuYasha's right eye. That black pearl (kuroshinju) could be and was used only once to travel to the boundary between this world and the next to reach his father's grave from which InuYasha and Kagome retrieved Tetsusaiga. Once one of his pearls is used for its purpose, it will destroy itself, erasing all hints of its existence to others. The pearl Hōsenki put in InuYasha's eye was activated by Sesshomaru so he could gain possession of the Tetsusaiga, although he is unsuccessful.

Much later in the series, InuYasha's group wanted to travel again to the nether world to recover a missing shard of the shikon jewel through information retrieved from Hakudoshi. Under Myōga's suggestion, they went to see Hōsenki to get another black pearl. Unfortunately for them, he had died, and his son (also named "Hōsenki"), who had not fully mastered the ability to make such pearls, had taken his place. At this point, the son would need another hundred years to create a pearl. The group later finds their way to the nether world through the death of Abi-Hime's mother.

When InuYasha's group arrived in the nether world by another path, they found Hōsenki (the father) among Inu no Taishou's bones. Hōsenki, however, was corrupted by a dark fragment of the shikon jewel due to Naraku's influence on the rest of the Shikon Jewel. He fought against InuYasha to retain the jewel shard. When Naraku removed the shard from his body, he regained his allegiance to InuYasha. While Sesshomaru fought Naraku, Hōsenki taught InuYasha a new attack with the Tetsusaiga—the Kongōsōha or Adamant Barrage. He told InuYasha to slay him to gain the ability to create the adamant (diamond) barrage. InuYasha, however, was distracted by Naraku's miasma and chose to save his friends. InuYasha used the move against Naraku, and recovered the jewel shard from Naraku.
