The sooner wikipedia gets a spellchecker the better. Brute force is not the answer. -- Horkana 19:16, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
- In the meantime it wouldn't hurt if users were more aggressively encouraged to use web browsers that supported inline spell checking. (At this point that means most browsers except Internet Explorer.) -- Horkana 01:44, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
This talk page is _my talk page_ and will be treated as such. See also WP:Ignore all rules.
Comments are welcome but any comments made here will be treated as temporary and subject to deletion at any time. Comments relevant to articles are best put on the Talk pages of article.
Users should not be required to perform tasks that should be automated such as archiving old comments, spell checking, checking basic grammar, or checking basic style rules, or needing to know vast amounts of trivial Wikipedia policy. Comments are welcome but any comments made here will be treated as temporary and subject to deletion at any time.
For anyone not paying attention see also WP:Ignore all rules.
- WP:Ignore all rules says: "If a rule prevents you from improving or maintaining Wikipedia, ignore it." And that is all it says. Deleting talk page comments that you don't like does not help you improve or maintain Wikipedia, it hinders other people from doing the same. If you wish that Wikipedia had better features, than volunteer to help add them. This is a volunteer supported project, remember? - Richfife (talk) 04:37, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
- The sentiment "if you don't like it then fix it" is great and all but not very helpful. There is more wikipedia policy than most people can reasonably be expected to know and if more tasks were automated then more time could be spent on other priorities such as the articles. -- Horkana (talk) 04:49, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Complaint about trigger happy deletion
I don't what I did to you for you to make a complaint on the noticeboard. I had to look back in edit histories to see what articles we had both edited. Your statements were uncited, and I was justified in removing it. But if you want to contact an admin, it doesn't bother me. No hard feelings. ColdFusion650 (talk) 13:32, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
- Your behaviour offends me. Your trigger happy deletion helps no one. It was stupid and lazy to turn away someone trying to contribute. You could have tried to be helpful and suggested I rephrase or provide citations but you just ignored my work and deleted it. You are rude and unhelpful and a reflection of some of the worst elements of wikipedia. Your above sentence barely makes sense. You found my page easily enough to complain about me but not when you could have helped me. Instead you junked my efforts. If you cannot be helpful do nothing, people like you are turning people away from wikipedia. It is unfortunate that standards are so low that your behaviour is not considered a problem. -- Horkana (talk) 14:45, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
- In case you truly think that what I said made no sense, I'll try to rephrase. I did nothing wrong, but you can be angry if you want. It won't bother me, and I don't hold it against you. As far as I'm concerned, we're good. No worries. ColdFusion650 (talk) 17:39, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
