Talk:Horse sacrifice

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Völsa þáttr does not describe a horse sacrifice. The horse was just butchered for eating (yes in those days Scandinavians ate horses, although they would later stop doing so). The lady of the household only kept the horse's penis which she brought forth at a later moment for phallic worship.--Berig 09:52, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

the Ashvamedha parallel is still striking! --dab (𒁳) 21:50, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
True, it may be worth mentioning.--Berig 16:12, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
