The Distrito da Horta was a district of Portugal that was existed until 1976 when it was abolished and off the map when the Portuguese constitution was reformed. The district used to cover the western portion of the Azores Islands and was about 300 km². It was Portugal's westernmost district. Its capital was Horta. The district was the least populated in the Azores. district formerly included the Corvo, Faial, Flores and the Pico islands. Under the August 1975 constitution, the district was to be abolished under the Portuguese and the autonomous law. The present administration is under the island name since 1976.

The largest municipality used to be Horta as well as its most populated community, the leastly populated area was Corvo.
