Horsecastle Chapel

Horsecastle Chapel is an independent evangelical church on Horsecastle Farm Road in Yatton, North Somerset, England.

As an independent church, it is self-governing and does not belong to any denomination. It is governed by elected male elders. There is a membership, for which adherence to the beliefs of the church is required. Legally the church has trustees and is a registered charity. Funding is from contributions by members. Doctrinally the church is protestant, reformed (Calvinistic), baptist (practising adult baptism) and non-charismatic.

Historically, the congregation was affiliated with the Open Brethren movement. It met in a building on the corner of Horsecastle Close and Wemberham Crescent, which has since been converted into a residential building. Some meetings were "open meetings" at which members of the congregation could contribute. At others, visiting speakers were invited. There was a monthly communion service (known as the Lord's Supper, or Breaking of Bread). During the 1970s, membership increased and a pastor (Peter E. Cresswell) was called to provide teaching and leadership. The present building was constructed during approximately the period 1985 to 1994. More recently, Pastor Cresswell was joined in the ministry by his son-in-law, Cameron Drury.
