Horné Zahorany (Hungarian: Tóthegymeg) is a village and municipality in the Rimavská Sobota District of the Banská Bystrica Region of southern Slovakia.

In historical records, the village was first mentioned in 1323 (1323 Hegmeg, 1336 Hegymegey, 1450 Thenethnek, 1609 Kyshegimegh, 1653 Tothegymeg). It belonged to family Balogy up to the 15th century, and in the 16th century to Derencsényi. In 1566 it was pillaged by Turks. Later, it belonged to landowners Padery and to Lukovištia village.
