Dr. Syed Ali Wasif is a Consultant Psychiatrist and a celebrated painter living in Karachi, Pakistan. He photographs and paints, what he calls The Politics of Stress, which basically is a dialogue with the society and system in which he is entrapped. He was born on 25th. May 1960, in Karachi, did his M.B.B.S. in April 1987 from Sindh Medical College, Karachi, and University and is a Member College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan M.C.P.S. Psych. 1990 and is a practising Psychiatrist. He was trained under Pakistan's most prominent painting maestro the late Sadequain and has the honour of winning two consecutive Sadequain Awards in 1991, and 1992. He has been involved with the cause of Mental Health since 1987. In psychiatry, his area of interest is Trauma Psychology, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Torture, Abuse of women & children and suicide. {{http://www.dawn.com/2004/08/09/fea.htm
