[edit] Coronation Street

Hope High School was used to depict Weatherfield High School in soap opera Coronation Street. Many pupils at the school appeared as extras in the show. Some of the scenes that were filmed at the school include part of a storyline that Sarah-Louise Platt, portrayed by Tina O'Brien, was pregnant at the age of 13, along with stories surrounding Andy McDonald, Steve McDonald and Mike Baldwin's son, Mark during their school years. Ken Barlow was a teacher at Weatherfield High School for a time, and once suffered heart problems whilst teaching a class, and again whilst acting as referee of a school football match.
