Hope Christian School is a private, non-denominational and co-educational institution in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA. It was founded by Wayne Ehlert in 1976 and still continues to grow. The school currently has 1,337 students in grades PreK through 12. It has 80 faculty members, and a 17:1 student to faculty ratio.

[edit] Facilities

Hope was originally a single campus which housed both primary and secondary students. As enrollment increased over time, the single campus was no longer sufficient for the school's needs. In the late 1990s the school purchased a nearby church and its adjacent land. This land, located just northwest of the original campus, was developed into a primary school campus. Hope currently has two campuses, the mid/high school campus, and the elementary school campus. In early 2002 the school purchased a plot of land just north of the Main High School campus, it is now being used to build a new middle-school building. A section of the building is already complete. It is being used by only the sixth grade presently. They hope to have the building complete by the summer of 2007

[edit] Beliefs

Hope is based upon highly conservative Protestant beliefs. Although the school is officially nondenominational, many of the beliefs are similar to those held by churches within the Southern Baptist Convention. Students who attend Hope are required to attend weekly chapel services. Students are also required to take one Bible class each year. In addition to teaching Bible study techniques, the Bible classes also provide an overview of Protestant theology.
