[edit] Origin of name?

Now where does the name come from? I guess it is unrelated to the japanese car brand? -- 790 18:20, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

Ashley says the name was used for this knot by American and Mexican cowboys. According to Google translation the Spanish word "honda" means "sling". I don't know whether the word "honda" has other meanings/connotations which caused it to be used for this particular knot. Perhaps a native Spanish speaker from Mexico or the Southwest US could comment... --Dfred 19:01, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
