Talk:Honda CBR250
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"Despite Honda claims of the engine revving to 18,500 in the manual, the reality is that the ignition cuts out at around 17,230 rpm, and the ignition map is retarded around the powerful revs (14,000 to 16,000 rpm) to limit the horsepower to Japanese law."
That information was obtained when the author tested an MC19 ignition unit and therefore the information cannot be used as a general fact across every model. The original thread on www.cbr250.com in which the author mentions the testingis no longer there but i can provide a link in which the author [known as FlyingDutchMan on the forum] mentions that he not only authored this page but that he only measured the information off an MC19 ignition unit...
Whitenikeeta 03:16, 16 August 2007 (UTC) The Honda CBR250RR revs higher than the CBR250R i believe they redline at 19,000rpm. I think also that a picture of the different models should be uploaded so the differences can be seen.
"Riding a CBR250RR in 6th gear at 100 km/h (60 mph) the engine revs at around 9,000 rpm. The CBR250R has five gears, and revs around 9,000 rpm at 100km/h." - So which is it, five gears or six? Kevinthenerd 14:12, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
