Hongtashan

Hongtashan (Simplified Chinese:红塔山；Traditional Chinese:紅塔山; Hanyu Pinyin:Hóngtǎshān) is a very popular brand of cigarette in China. It uses a flue-cured tobacco type, and gets its name from the location of its main production facility, Hongtashan Hill ('Red Pagoda Hill') in Yuxi. It was established in 1959 and is distributed throughout China and some are exported.

It was ranked as the number one most valuable brand in China for 2001 by the People's Daily [1] for the 7th consecutive year.
