This article is about the town in Wakayama Prefecture, Japan. There is another town with the same Japanese written name (本宮町) in Fukushima Prefecture, see Motomiya, Fukushima.
Hongū (本宮町 Hongū-chō?) was a town located in Higashimuro District, Wakayama, Japan. On May 1, 2005, Hongū merged with other nearby towns to form the new city of Tanabe.
As of 2003, the town had an estimated population of 3,759 and a density of 18.42 persons per km². The total area was 204.06 km².
