User:Homograph

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

First off, the user name:

A "homograph" is a term used in Language Arts (what used to be called the subject of English in school) to describe a word that has the same spelling but different meanings (what used to be called a homonym). I chose the user name because my first name is a homograph. I reassure you, it has nothing to do with anything sexual. (I know, the problem is with the prefix, "homo-". But that is the curse of our modern culture.)

My name is Jay. The word can be a masculine name or a type of bird. Hence, "homograph."

I teach elementary school in California, and am working on my master's in history, a subject that I enjoy. I found wikipedia a few months back because I wanted information on a person. When I couldn't find anything, I did the library research and created a new article. Since then, I have created a couple more articles, and made several additions and edits to others. I became a registered user on December 9, 2005, because I needed to create another article.
