[edit] Mother church

Why is the church of Scotland tha "mother church"? A.Z. 22:26, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

As noted in Presbyterianism, the Presbyterian churches in North America (and American mission churches in Korea), Ireland, Africa, and Oceania trace their histories to the Scottish church. Unlike other Reformed churches (e.g., Dutch, Swiss, French, Hungarian, RCA, etc), they consider themselves spiritual "descendants" of John Knox. Flycandler 15:54, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
OK, thank you :-) A.Z. 02:36, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Peacock

I added the peacock template because of the sentence "Other much smaller American Presbyterian bodies..." A.Z. 22:32, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
