[edit] School Emblem??

Which genius edited that out and put in just the text?! NeoDeGenero 16:50, 24 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Chatter

  • Congrats to the 2004 Seniors on their prank, we the 2002 year have failed >< NeoDeGenero 06:49, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
  • What happened to the information about the yearly Year 12 pranks? As an encyclopaedia entry, it's only fair to also include the negative aspects for this article to be objective, right? Ronnknee 12:59, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
  • Agreed, this article highlights all the good points about the school but hides all the bad points, this is some of the reason the school has such a good reputation. When you go to homebush boys high school you will find out that it really isnt as good as its reputation, bullying happens daily to many students and fights are also a very commen occurence. I veleive this article shoudl highlight ALL Points from the school and not just the good points, just like at our school all bad points are ignored and all the good points are praised highly. This is very poor thing for wikipedia to block editing of the article
  • ^-- Well said friend. Andrew Chan, part of the Bali 9, is a notable alumni. This is a fact, just because it may bring shame, it's true. Accept it. Ronnknee 12:15, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
  • who edited out my Airey Park weekly fights section hahaha put it back in or i'll see you there. Hmm brings back memories... damn i miss HS. NeoDeGenero 06:27, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
  • I don't really think it's an issue of bringing shame or not to the school, but yes an encyclopaedic entry should have information, from every side, of the object in the article but I don't think such a small thing like this qaulifies. On the main page of Australia, you don't see criminals from Australia, theres a seperate page for that. It just looks as if, despite belonging to the school, you want to bring it down for some reason. I mean, no one mentioned anything about the salmonella outbreak at St Patricks College, Strathfield, and that was featured just as prominently as Andrew Chan. Anyways, just my two cents.Peasoop 15:13, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
  • It has been brought to my attention that a series of vandals have been constantly putting up detrimental information. If such accusations or claims and made it needs to be references and cited with a reliable sources that are accessible to the general public. Anything short of this constitutes hearsay, vandalism and false accusations.

[edit] Citing Sources

All editors on this page would be wise to check out our policy on reliable sources. If information is just hearsay or from primary sources (e.g., "I saw it with my own eyes"), it is not verifiable and should not be included. (ESkog)(Talk) 12:28, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

When information is published it needs to be reliably verifiable as is the policy of wikipedia. The source needs to be accurate, reliable and readily accessible to the public. Anything short of this constitutes hearsay, vandalism and false accusations. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Johnsmich (talkcontribs) 11:09, 12 November 2007 (UTC)

Yeah? Well there is no substantiation that any of the cited alumni or staff ever went to the school--and I'm sure the same applies to all schools in Wikipedia. Let's remove 'em all, eh?! Or, preferably, let's get real, please. --Bjenks 15:29, 12 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Achievement of public prominence in various fields of endeavour

The article states in the notable alumni section: "Andrew Chan - convicted drug trafficker, a member of the "Bali 9", Chan was at Homebush Boys High School till year 10." Achievement in what? Is there a more appropriate category to place this piece of info?Pristine 08:38, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

Yes indeed. Together with the thug Roger Rogerson, Chan should be either removed altogether or placed under a more meaningful heading, like Notorious convicted criminals or Negative newsmakers. --Bjenks 09:18, 24 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Typos

OK, will someone please unprotect this article and search/correct these typos: recogonised, Certifiate, 'team were runners up'. Also, here's one OB who remembers a couple more notable staff:-- Olympian oarsman Dave Anderson and NSW and Test leg-spin bowler Peter Philpott, during the 1950s. Notable Alumni should also include André Frankovits, former Executive Director, Human Rights Council of Australia, and Emeritus Professor Richard Collins, [1] the former Head of Physics at the University of Sydney. [edit] WikiProject class rating

This article was automatically assessed because at least one WikiProject had rated the article as start, and the rating on other projects was brought up to start class. BetacommandBot 10:18, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
