[edit] Summary
Current provinces that contain the birthplace or hometown of Philippine vice presidents.
[edit] Notes
- At the time of Emmanuel Pelaez's birth, the town of Medina was part of the now-defunct province of Misamis, which was only split into two provinces in 1929 (made formal in 1939).
- Metropolitan Manila (though not a province), is highlighted as the birthplace of Salvador Laurel, Gloria Arroyo, and Teofisto Guingona, as it presently contains the city of San Juan. At the time of their births, San Juan was a municipality of the province of Rizal.
- Metropolitan Manila (though not a province), is highlighted as the birthplace of Arturo Tolentino and Joseph Estrada, as it presetly contains the city of Manila. At the time of their births, the City of Manila functioned as independently from any province, just like today. Metro Manila was only organized in 1975.
- At the time of Noli de Castro's birth, the town of Pola was part of the now-defunct province of Mindoro, which was only split into two provinces in 1950.
