Homework help service
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A homework help service is a company, organization, or web-site that provides tutors specifically for assisting students with their homework. Most homework help services charge a fee, but some are free. Libraries have become providers of homework help services, both on-line and in-person, in an effort to win back the patronage of children and young adults.

Many public libraries provide tutors for helping students with their homework in-person.
[edit] Online homework help services
Online homework help services are websites that provide tutoring via chat or by question-and-answer email. In the case of email tutoring services, an archive of previously asked and answered questions is sometimes provided. Most free email tutoring services allow users to post questions to be answered by volunteer tutors. Paid email tutoring services generally provide more timely service.
Libraries provide such services in one of three ways, either through their website, through a joint website in collaboration with other libraries and government agencies, or with on-site access to a tutoring subscription service. Such services are generally free for patrons with a library card.
