[edit] Conflict of interest
If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:
- editing articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
- participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors;
- linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam);
- and you must always:
- avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially neutral point of view, verifiability, and autobiography.
For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see Wikipedia:Business' FAQ. For more details about what constitutes a conflict of interest, please see Wikipedia:Conflict of Interest. Thank you. BlueAzure (talk) 03:40, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Using two accounts: be careful!
Hello HolllywoodFan1. Per this edit, it seems you are editing both as HollywoodFan1 and SJR2008. Since this can lead to trouble with our WP:SOCK policy, please consider choosing which one you want for your 'real' account and discontinue editing with the other one. Thanks, EdJohnston (talk) 14:12, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you for your concern, but I am not using both accounts. I do not know User:SJR2008. I simply helped BlueAzure out by taking SJR208's comment off of BlueAzure's user page by replacing it on his talk page. I though it was irresponsible of SJR2008 to have put his communication on BlueAzure's user page which I believe should be left for Blue Azure to edit solely. Look at the history of both BlueAzure User page and talk page to see what I have done.HollywoodFan1 (talk) 19:52, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for clarifying, and sorry for the false alarm. EdJohnston (talk) 20:02, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Welcome to wikipedia
Hey HolywoodFan1,
Welcome to Wikipedia. I made some changes to the article. It may seem less exciting, or personal now, but it's a lot closer to a keep-able article now.
Also, I took out the myspace reference and the reference to commercials, because those generally get deleted anyway, and they usually make your page look weaker. It shouldn't happen, but in AFD discussions, they tend to use as an argument, "This page has a bunch of links like to myspace, etc. It should be deleted."
Also, one of the things that the admins frown on is calling an article, "My article." Wikipedia has it's own weird language, and generally anytime someone uses first person, and especially getting possessive about anything, you get dissected like a meaty cow in a piranha-infested river.
Let me know if you have any questions or if I can help out at all. Fredsmith2 (talk) 04:58, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
- Hello Fredsmith2, and thank you for your insight, hard work and welcoming me again to WP. I've learned a lot this week, and though a little bruised, I think I'll continue to help the process. I'll watch the "my article" thing, it never occurred to me. If there are any articles you recommend on guidelines like these, I would welcome the referral. Happy holidays! [edit] Sockpuppetry case
You have been accused of sockpuppetry. Please refer to Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/64.30.201.109 for evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with notes for the suspect before editing the evidence page. BlueAzure (talk) 04:48, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
- I have responded on Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/64.30.201.109HollywoodFan1 (talk) 10:06, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
{{helpme}} I've being tag teamed (literally) by two editors on Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/64.30.201.109 and Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard for eleven days now. I've also had an Adf put on the article I started which was cleared by a group of editors. And now that ADf tagger is trying to get the other COI/sockpuppet tagger to put another Adf on that same article, since his didn't work. Can anyone help me out of this web (pardon the pun)?HollywoodFan1 (talk) 10:18, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
- There is no case of abusive sockpuppetry. It was closed down as not abusive. --EoL talk 23:16, 20 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents
Hello, HollywoodFan1. This message is being sent to inform you that there currently is a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding your abuse of sockpuppets. The discussion can be found under the topic Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/Incidents#Requested_block_of_socks. --BlueAzure (talk) 22:26, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Thank you
Thanks to all of the editors who helped me on my short stint on WP. Above you can see the history of BlueAzure WP:HAR and I have decided not to argue with the fool in public any more. I would have liked to continue, but it's not worth what BlueAzure has put me through. For all of the editors who have worked hard in creating a positive environment and work diligently at contributing in a worthwhile manner, keep up the good fight. Happy New Year!HollywoodFan1 (talk) 05:52, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
