[edit] History

[edit] 2002

Early 2002 band members Jacob Rabin and Dylan Brandsema had met. They were 8, each. Originally Jacob was in a band called Crazy Generation-Spelled Crazy Genor@ion. While Dylan was in a band called DC+. After DC+ and Crazy Generation broke up. Dylan and Jake formed, The Ruins. Jake came up with the name after a novel he read. Originally he had the band's name be The Moon-breakers. But they changed it to The Hopeful Fall, but they got confused with Hopesfall. So they eventually settled on The Ruins.

[edit] 2003

After the formation the Ruins recruited Bryson Grondon, rhythm guitarist and keyboardist. Also they recruited bassist Stephen Ferray. They had their fist gig at High Velocity in Beachwood, New Jersey. They got big and their first self-titled album was released. Then they got bigger and disappeared from the end of 2003 till the end of 2005.

[edit] 2006

The Ruins came back with a new style, Hard Rock. Not only a new style. but a new bassist. The new bassist was Anthony Morales. The old bassist, Stephen Ferray, had left the Ruins to go to London with his band named after his cousin's last name, Lointonio. The Ruins came back with a new album, Suction Wall. The album that broke them into the charts. The same year in the summer, they made Broken, a Punk Metal album.

[edit] 2008

The Ruins just ended the hiatus March 2, 2008. They are currently working on a new album. Jake Rabin is working on a video game too. He didn't say much about the game or the album, all he said was "They will both, blow your mind." The Ruins put a song on the new album onto their website for download for 2 weeks, then took it off because some people were selling it illegally over the internet. They played over 10 Benefit Concerts for AIDS and Cancer this past 2 months. May 8, 2008, on their website the Ruins released the albums name and title track, Man of War. They do not know when Man of War will be released, but they said maybe in 2009. The Ruins are taking a break from Man of War to recored their other album, it is a list of cover songs released in the past, or done during live shows. It is called Krazy Koverz.
