[edit] Liberalism and socialism
This sentence is a bit odd:
- A number of high-profile socialists sent their children to Holland Park School, adding to its reputation as a liberal institution.
Unlike in the U.S., where "liberal" means vaguely "left-wing" and so might be grouped with socialism, my understanding is that in the UK "liberalism" is a separate ideology from socialism, represented in the differences between the Liberal Democrats on the one hand and the pre-Blair Labour Party on the other. --Delirium 06:22, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
