[edit] Summary

The Holy Infants Embracing by Leonardo da Vinci circa 1486. Painted in Milan as a variation on The Virgin of the Rocks the painting has an extraordinary background of rocks (not shown) and plants so intimately related to everything Leonardo drew in his studies of natural forms. The anemones (bottom right) are superbly painted.
