Holymead Junior School is in Brislington, Bristol. The headteacher of the school is Mrs Debby Quinn. Deputy head teacher is Jim Mepham. A scene from Casualty was filmed in the library.
The school is located in an urban area, and its intake has a wide social mix. In 2000 there were 392 students, of whom 23% were on the register of special educational needs, which is above average for schools. The 2000 Ofsted report found standards to be satisfactory in almost all areas of the curriculum, good in science, art, swimming and games, but unsatisfactory in information technology and religious education. It also reported that students listen well, but have speaking skills below expectations.
