Holt Science and Technology is a middle school science program. Its three-book series provides thorough content coverage for life science, earth science, and physical science, and (is advertized as) emphasizes reading strategies, math practice and meaningful hands-on activities that make 'learning science fun'. And it aims to help students to gain a strong foundation in scientific concepts.
Holt Science and Technology is a part of Holt, Rinehart and Winston, a Harcourt Trade Publishers company, which is based in Austin, Texas (founded in 1866). Holt is a recognized leader in secondary education publishing curriculum-based textbooks, support, reference materials, and professional development in print, electronic, and online formats for students and teachers in grades 6 -12. I used these books in middle school and they really helped me understand science and made it fun. There is a lab book in the back of each book that gives you many fun hands-on activities for students.
