Holmen is a Swedish company which bases its business in the pulp and paper industry. Holmen's main products are newsprint (both white and colored) and magazine paper for newspapers, magazines, directories and advertising prints. They also produce paperboard for consumer packaging and graphical applications.
The current CEO is Magnus Hall.

Holmen was originally called Mo och Domsjö AB (MoDo), but changed its name to the current one in February 2000. The history of Holmen is more than 400 years long, it started as a weapons factory in the beginning of the 17th century in Norrköping. In the mid 18th century what finally would become MoDo was formed.

Holmen consists of several subsidiaries: Holmen Paper, Iggesund Paperboard, Iggesund Timber, Holmen Skog and Holmen Kraft whereas the largest one is Holmen Paper with a total of three paper mills in Sweden; Hallsta, Braviken and Wargön and one in Madrid, Spain, thus the most of the production is located in Sweden. Iggesund Paperboard has two paperboard mills; one in Iggesund, Sweden and one in Workington, England,

The largest owner in Holmen is L.E. Lundbergsföretagen, controlled by billionaire Fredrik Lundberg with 27.2% of the shares and 52.0% of the total vote.

The European market makes up about 86% of Holmen's total net income. While Holmen's single largest market is of no surprise: Sweden, with one fourth of the total net income, they are also especially strong in Spain and Germany where they are one of the leading suppliers of newspaper to the daily newspaper printing companies.

Holmen produce colored paper to newspapers such as Financial Times, Dagens Industri and Sportbladet. They are one of the leading suppliers of colored newspaper both in the United Kingdom and Sweden. Holmen also have customers in Japan, USA, Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea and Australia.
