Dr. Holly Goodhead is a fictional character from the James Bond franchise, portrayed by Lois Chiles in Moonraker.

Holly is a scientist and astronaut working for the CIA working undercover on Sir Hugo Drax's Moonraker 5 space shuttle to gather intelligence on Drax's plan to exterminate the human race. While working undercover in Drax's organisation, Bond discovers her secret identity when he spots standard CIA gadgetry in her hotel room. While Bond and Holly are at first reluctant to work together, they do work well as a team towards the end of the film.

They first meet when she introduces him to the centrifugal chamber where astronauts get to grips with G forces and invites him to have a try. In her absence, however, Drax's henchman, Chang, tampers with the machine's controls to send it into overdrive; when Holly returns, Bond has nearly been killed.

Bond travels to Venice to investigate Venni Glass, a company named in some of Drax's plans. Bond spots Holly and follows her before re-introducing himself. At this point she reveals her alma mater is Vassar College. Later that evening Bond pays Holly a visit after dealing with Chang, and they spend the night together.

After M tells Bond to take two weeks leave, Bond travels to Rio, where he meets Holly once more, and they run into Jaws, who is now working for Drax. They escape Jaws, but are captured by Drax's men disguised as paramedics. Bond escapes from the ambulance speeding towards Drax's base, but hast to leave Holly behind.

Holly reunites with Bond after he escapes being burned to death underneath Drax's Moonraker 5 with help of his detonator watch. They then take the places of the Moonraker 6 pilots. In the Christopher Wood novelization of the film, at this point in the story she tells Bond (who is of course a naval commander, equivalent to a lieutenant-colonel) that she is a full colonel, and therefore outranks him. After a battle aboard Drax's space station, they escape in Moonraker 5, destroying the globes Drax intends to kill the human race with, and make love while orbiting the Earth.

The film ends with the representatives of their respective nations catching Holly having sex with Bond on a video feed from Drax's ship.
