[edit] History

The current building was used as a middle school until the creation of the new Hollis/Brookline High School in 1997. The existing high school moved into the new building, and it became Hollis/Brookline Junior High School. All of this was done due to overcrowding in the schools, and the existing Hollis Elementary School split into Hollis Primary School and Hollis Upper Elementary School. However, when the Upper Elementary opened in 1996, it was not yet ready for grades four through six, so only grades five and six used the building. The graduating class of 2005 thus attended only two years in the building, but every class since has been there for all three.
