[edit] Holland Bands
Holland High School's band is known for marching in wooden shoes in parades. Directed by Charles Bullard, the band plays '[Tiptoe Through The Tulips]' when marching in the Tulip Time Festival parades. The band has played multiple times in Disneyland in Florida and for other prestigious events.[citation needed]
[edit] Guerilla Rama
A popular evert at HPS, students watch as 15 Viet Cong soldiers hopelessly navigate a 100 yard stretch of indoor jungle, while encountering minefields, tripwires, snake pits, and other traps.
[edit] Smile Tickets
Holland Heights gives away smile tickets to kids with excellent behavior. At the end of the month, classes compete to get the most smiles.
[edit] Citizens of the Week
Jefferson has an award for kids who have excellent behavior, also. But this award goes to only one person in particular from each classroom. This award gets given out every Friday. Before the principal announces the citizens, the award is given out to classes that have returned all of their books from the school library.

Holland Public is the only school district to have the G/T program. It features students who think in new and different ways.[citation needed] Teachers of the program include Ryan Harrell who teaches 3rd thru 5th and Gary Vosburg who teaches 6th thru 8th. Other students are thinking of adding the program to their schools.[citation needed]
[edit] The Vocal Dimensions
Holland High School of the HPS district, is recognized for its outstanding singing and musically talented students. Vocal Dimensions helps put sixteen individuals on spotlight as they are often known as the best singers at Holland High. Vocals is taught and led by Kerry Daab, who also teaches and directs Concert Choir and Treble Choir at the school. Some acts for the Vocal Dimensions include: The Wooden Shoe-Be-Doo for Tulip Time, The Annual Vocal Dimension Show in March, The Jazz Festival at Forest Hills Northern, and of course the Choir Concerts. They have performed at several other locations too. This past school year (2007-08), they had a fantastic showing and were a very strong group of singers. The group for the 2008-2009 school year is:
