Holiest One

Holiest One is the hit song by the band Mastedon in the 1980s. It is categorized as a heavy metal song although it contains christian lyrics. It was written by Dino Elefante (guitar player and creater of the band) who claimed ot have had a "Sudden Burst of Inspiration" and wrote down the lyrics and tune to the song. His brother John Elefante added onto the tune and made it more like a metal song but did not change the original lyrics.

The song is first on their third album and lasts barely over 3 minutes. It was also noted as "Our heaviest song"(Quoted from John Elefante in an interview) However it was never released onto a CD because the group was never famous enough to last after their breaking-up.
