Holeproof
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Holeproof is an American company founded by Carl Freschl who began experimenting with hosiery in his family store in Kalamazoo, Michigan. His father, Philip Freschl, had purchased a small loom in 1872 to allow him to make hosiery. He had little success with the loom and it was soon banished to a quiet corner. However, young son Carl was fascinated by the loom and eventually succeeded in producing a stocking. The company grew rapidly and Carl Freschl shifted his operation to Milwaukee. The company became known for its high-quality, light, and durable hose. Today, Holeproof remains one of the world's best known brands with manufacturing in many countries.
