"Hold On" became Wilson Phillips' first number one single, reaching the top spot of the Billboard Hot 100 on June 9, 1990. It also peaked at number 6 in the UK.

At the Grammy Awards of 1991, the song received a nomination for Song of the Year, losing to "From a Distance" by Julie Gold and performed by Bette Midler.[1]
