Hold Me Now (Thompson Twins song)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"Hold Me Now" was the first single taken from the British pop / new wave band Thompson Twins' 1984 album Into The Gap. Released in the UK in late 1983, the song peaked at #4 on the UK singles chart in November of that year, becoming the band's highest charting single (at the time) and third Top 10 hit. The song was released in the U.S. in early 1984 and reached the Top 40 on February 25. It quickly became the band's highest charting hit there as well, surpassing the #30 peak position of their song "Lies" from the previous year. "Hold Me Now" eventually reached #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in May, and remained in the Top 40 for 15 weeks. In addition, the song went to #1 on the American dance chart for one week in late April of 1984. It is one of the Thompson Twins' most popular, well-known singles which many people consider to be their signature song.
