Hold'em for Hunger

Hold'em for Hunger is a charity poker tournament held annually by the UNC chapter of Nourish International, a non-profit organization based in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Proceeds from the tournament help to fund Nourish International's sustainable development projects around the world, such as the founding of a development facility for the Universal Nut Sheller in partnership with the Full Belly Project.

In 2007, Hold'em For Hunger garnered nearly 500 players, making it the largest charity poker tournament on the East Coast.[1]

Nourish International is a 501(c)3 non-profit based in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Their mission to eradicate poverty by engaging students and empowering communities. They have chapters at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Duke University, North Carolina State University,Ohio State University, the University of Michigan, East Carolina University, Saint Louis University, Georgetown University and the University of Minnesota[2].
