Coordinates: 26°00′N 92°52′E / 26, 92.87 Hojai is a city and a municipal board in Nagaon district in the Indian state of Assam. The place has an immense potential to set it's mark in sub-urban consumer product market. Quite a large part of central Assam,India depends on Hojai and its consumer products. This has led to a sub-urban wealthy population in Hojai which is hard to find anywhere in a sub-urban India. The place has boosted a solid education environment as well. Hojai has an average literacy rate of 78%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 83%, and female literacy is 74%. In Hojai, 11% of the population is under 6 years of age.
