[edit] Edits of 2/5/07

I have replaced the reference tag, preceded by < and followed with the > and named the section Footnotes. Please do not remove as it allows the in-line references to be seen at the bottom of the article. They never should have been removed in the first place because the tag falls within Wiki guidelines. Editors should never remove something that falls within Wiki guidelines.

Also I made some minor edits: removed liberal label from Alterman (not needed in this article, are we to label everyone's political leanings?) and removed the African-American from the "Politics and the Kennedy's" subsection. Rationale: I originally edited this info, but I now believe it's unnecessary for the bio article. It does not really matter they were there because it does not add annything important for the bio of Mr. Carter. And, Mr. Grier's conversion to the Republican Party has nothing to do with Mr. Carter. Also moved Mr. Carter's date of death, reason, and place of death from the "Criticism" section to top of page where it's more appropriate.

Finally, while there is no consensus as to the alpha sorting of cats, many editors sort by alpha, and since I placed the "Alpha sort please," comment why not continue to place cats in alpha order. They are much easier to read. Regards, Luigibob 09:32, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
