Hockwold cum Wilton is 10 miles west of Thetford, Norfolk, England and is in the borough of King's Lynn and West Norfolk.

It is located near several USAF airbases, notably RAF Lakenheath and RAF Mildenhall.

Hockwold is a small village with a thriving community. The village has a small primary school which was originally built as a hospital during World War I. The two pubs, the Red Lion and the New Inn, are popular spots for the village locals. Although the Red Lion is currently closed and it's future is uncertain at this time. The village has an annual fair, which over the past few years has proven to be a great success and has raised a lot of money for the village. The village also has two churches and a Methodist chapel.

The village is also rumoured to have several ghosts haunting it.[citation needed] Hockwold Hall, a large manor house and estate, has its gates haunted by the white lady, who over the years has been rumoured to cause distraction to many drivers on their way through the village. The river Ouse that runs through the village is also rumoured to be haunted by a group of nuns and a horseman.

Originally, the village was located next to the river. However, after the black plague infected the village, it was burnt down and relocated a mile away from the river.
